City Guide: Barcelona Pt.2

City Notes

Welcome to part 2 of my Barcelona city guide. This post is all about where to go & what to see. You've probably seen enough food porn in my last post, so this will make you a little less hungry & a little more inspired to leave your desk & travel.

For part one of my city guide, click here!

1. The beach & Barceloneta

Barcelona is unique in that it's a major European metropolis right on the ocean. We decided to chill out down by the W Hotel as it's a little quieter & more relaxed. Little known fact; the beach is man-made. Crazy.

2. Parc de la Ciutadella
This place is simply stunning. I guess it's comparable to Hyde Park. Worth the walk.

3. The National Gallery
I didn't actually go into the gallery, but the walk to the top boasts some serious views.

4. The Design Museum
Easily the best of the museums & galleries we'd visited whilst in the city. If you love all types of design as I do, then this place will have a thorough exhibition of it - Fashion, graphic, interior, motor & furniture. Well worth €5 entry fee. And if you appreciate a bit of brutalist concrete architecture, then I fully recommend having an explore of the grounds.

5. University District
This area is where you'll find the streetwear & sneaker stores. It also has a ton of awesome places to eat & drink, it's comparable to Spitafields in it's culture & vibe.

That's it. My first ever published post is done & I've had a blast putting it together. I don't plan on all my city guides being 2 parters, but cities are big & full of things to discover. So maybe my post's will reflect that.

Next stop - NYC!
